Testing your forwarding

Once you’ve dialled your codes, run the built-in test so you know callers will come through before any real ones do. The test is on the same screen, right after your last code, and it is the first thing you see on every later visit.

  1. Go to Settings, then Call forwarding.
  2. Check the number under The number customers ring. This is the line the test rings, so it is the phone you forwarded, mobile or landline. If we found it on your Google listing it is already filled in; otherwise type it. The hint under the field says the same: Mobile or landline. This is the line we ring for the test.
  3. Tap Start the test.
  4. We ring your line. Don’t pick up. Let it divert.
  5. When it comes through, the screen says Forwarding is on and you get a text from Sayora: “Test passed. This is where your leads will arrive.”

If you started the test from the setup step in your Inbox, you’ll see You’re live instead. Same result.

That text lands on the mobile you gave us for lead texts, so it also proves your notifications work. That is a different number from the one the test rings: your lead texts always go to the mobile under Lead notifications.

You’ll see a note that the call didn’t divert, so forwarding isn’t on yet, with the three quick fixes underneath: Wi-Fi off and dial again, clear the diverts you set and dial your codes again from the top, or let your network set it from their end. Some networks take a minute to apply the change, so tap Try again after a moment. See my codes again shows your codes without changing anything.

If you set forwarding up before you had Sayora, or you’d rather skip the test, tap Already set up? Mark it done. It is on the first question, and under the test. We’d still recommend running the test once: it takes thirty seconds and there’s no other way to be sure.
